Omega 3’s lower breast cancer risk in post-menopausal women

Posted on: 16th November 2016

How can I help myself?

Post-menopausal women can lower their risk of breast cancer by taking omega 3 fatty acid supplements.

Conclusion

Their anti-inflammatory properties are as powerful as drugs, new research has found. The supplement is especially effective in post-menopausal women who have thicker breast tissue or are overweight or obese. Researchers from the Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Centre tested the supplement against the anti-oestrogen drug, Raloxifune, on a group of 266 post-menopausal women with no signs of breast cancer.

Garlic extract clears arteries of fat deposits

Posted on: 9th November 2016

How does it work?

Garlic extract can clear the arteries of plaque, usually the precursor of a heart attack. It slows the accumulation of ‘soft plaque’ by up to 80 per cent, and reduces the amount of fatty deposits in the arteries, a new study has found.

Researchers are confident that it can help slow the progression of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries from fatty deposits).

Recommendation

A 2,400 milligram dose of the supplement every day seems to reverse many of the symptoms of early-stage heart disease, say researchers.
